The Tea House

Decided to check this place out for the first time yesterday and although the decor was nice, I was disappointed with the food I was served. I ordered salt and pepper wings that didn't come out properly cooked. It was quite dark in there so I didn’t realize that they were off until I bit into it and my whole mouth tasted like blood. When the server came around he told me that they are completely cooked but since the wings are steamed they sometimes come out bloody which honestly doesn’t make sense to me. I sent them back and asked for it to be cooked some more but frankly they came out the same way when they were brought the second time. I then started to feel sick within less than 24 hours of my visit. I wouldn’t recommend getting the wings here and the cocktails were okay but I don’t see myself coming back.

Unreal atmosphere, had a great time and will definitely be going back.

Cool decor, but the music they played was just trash. They basically played the weekend and depressing hip hop non-stop and our server was completely pretentious.

Went here the other night with a friend, atmosphere was okay, decor was cute, but a couple of things could use work. Our server was extremely passive aggressive for I’m not sure what reason. When I ordered a drink, he asked me if I even knew what it was. On top of that, we were both served raw chicken wings. My friend took a bite out of her wing and only noticed something was wrong when she tasted blood and raw chicken. I took a bite out of my hot wings to see if mine were raw too, and the first wing I picked up tasted raw as well. When we told our server, his demeanour was again overall just kind of passive aggressive. I serve as well so I understand that sometimes people just have off nights though. Not sure if I would want to go back.

Such a unique place to enjoy some food and a cocktail! I’ve had a range of experiences here food wise, but it is mostly good. Only thing I wasn’t thrill with was the wings(but really it’s not a wings place so...). The atmosphere is what makes this place great.

This spot is amazing. The space itself is so cool! Drinks are awesome! The food is unreal. I recommend the wings and salt and pepper squid!

Overall a great experience, although the ambient noise was a bit loud and the music selection didnt exactly suit the atmosphere you'd expect of a cocktail bar/lounge.Aside from that, the cocktail selection was original, creative and unique! They were well balanced, flavorful and on-par with what one would consider an average cost.

Our server was very attentive, we never sat there with empty glasses and made sure everything was ok. The cocktails are quite unique if you want to try something new. I tried the grape drank and the Slurpee 001, definitely preferred the Slurpee 001. We ordered the mushroom dumplings and the beef tartare. If you like pho, it definitely did taste as described. All in all, I enjoyed the atmosphere, the great service, and the unique cocktails.

Came here with a large group. Our server was very patient and friendly. The food was varied and interesting, one of my favorite dishes was the kung pao potato . The service was friendly and prompt and all our bills were mistake free at the end. Very impressed with the whole team here

It's a nice place to kick it with friends. It was my wife's birthday and we went there after dinner with few friends on a Saturday night. The decor and atmosphere is good. We were looking for a place where they played hip hop and we didn't have to yell to have a conversation. All of us enjoyed our time there.Another plus was that they take reservation and we got a table in a packed place. Drinks were okay, didn't eat any of the food but it sounded good. Will try the food next time. Overall a good experience and I would go back.

Absolutely an excellent underrated spot for cocktails in the city. Fun names but more importantly, well made. The atmosphere has an oldish asian flair to it with low lightening creating a great mood for late night drinks and snacks. The hip hop/rap they play adds well to the ambience. The other night they were playing classic Kanye from Late Registration to Dark Twisted Fantasy. The food is really quite good (get the mushroom dumplings you won't be disappointed). If you're looking for casual drinks and a chill late night, this is the spot.

I would go for the night life and the drinks but food wise... Chinese food is not meant to be so pricey. Authentic Chinese food made of the same ingredients (ok maybe not as high quality possibly) is more than half the price with bigger portions. Last time I went it was always packed not sure if it's died down

Comedy night - so good! Love the cocktails, the food from upstairs at Two Penny is so good. Love this place, will be back with more friends next time!

Yummy!! Definitely try the papaya salad. The food here is delicious, well proportioned. Order a variety of five or six dishes to split with someone and you will feel quite satisfied that you ate a filling dinner. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. Five stars.

Really good food, definitely a place to share with friends. Each order isn't it's own complete meal! While "tea" is code for "alcohol", they do have actual tea and it's really really delicious. The atmosphere is very cozy, but it feels like a place that has more winter vibes. If you're hoping to enjoy the nice summer weather this isnt the place for you. I also noticed that the crowd here is more millenial and trendy, which makes me confused about their choice in music. The music completely clashes with the vibes of the place and a lot of millenials don't like classic rock. Our server Ryan was very nice and did a very good job at promptly helping us with everything we needed, including strange requests we had! Overall I would recommend this place for a fun night out of the summer sun!

Happy hour is great, and although I wasn't able to order much food, everyone else's tables looked incredible!! Cute decor and cute little spot!

Cool atmosphere and solid selection of drinks. Food and wings weren't that great however and portions very small. The size of the place is cozy, though you may have trouble getting a spot in peak times.

Since Taste disappeared my wife and I have been searching around for a new go-to favourite appetizer-cocktail bar, and this is it. Great food and great cocktails at more reasonable prices than other nearby places downtown. Will be back soon to try more dishes during a follow up visit, but try the Kung Pao potatoes in the meantime - an absolute hit with both of us.

This place has really good happy hour deals for food. Had the vegetarian Shanghai noodles which were quite good. Drinks were ok but the prices were a bit high for highballs during happy hour. Would come back to try the food for dinner.

Great place for some casual drinks and good food for sharing. The grape drank and the post water Malone are a must for cocktails.

Very disappointed they stopped making their Kung Pao Bao, apparently because it was too popular and took a long time to make. Would have preferred they just raise the price and kept them on the menu.

I love this place! The decor is fantastic and the staff is wonderful. We went during the Bonzi Noodle pop up! Some of the best food I've had in a long time. Great price point too!
